To encourage the re-use of materials from the site and recycled materials in the construction of subdivisions where practicable.

Standard C26

Recycled material should be used for the construction of streets, shared paths and other infrastructure where practicable.

An Excavation & Construction Waste Management Plan or Construction Site Environmental Management Plan is provided, including a commitment to divert:

# Better practice

  • At least 90% of construction and demolition waste from landfill.

# Excellence

  • At least 95% of construction and demolition waste from landfill.

# Documentation & evidence required

# Subdivision Design Response:

  • Annotation on plan: '90% / 95% of all construction & demolition waste to be recycled'

# Other documents

  • Excavation & Construction Management Plan submitted. The plan must include:
    • The diversion target
    • Waste separation strategies
    • Pre-construction documentation from contractors (on company letterhead) confirming destinations and materials to be recycled
    • Procedures for staff induction and training

Post-construction documentation may be required to confirm actual material volumes / mass diverted and recycling percentages
