# Objective
To protect and enhance native habitat and discourage the planting and spread of noxious weeds.
# Summary
Better practice is awarded where no environmental weeds—including Weeds of National Significance and declared noxious weeds—are specified in the planting palette.
Note that under the Catchment and Land Protection Act 1987 (CaLP Act), landowners are legally required to manage declared noxious weeds. Applicants should also check for any relevant local laws that may apply in their council area.

- Landscape Masterplan: Provide a statement from a qualified professional to confirm that no environmental weeds are used in the landscape design.
