To incorporate natural and cultural features in the design of streets and public open space where appropriate.
To protect and enhance native habitat and discourage the planting and spread of noxious weeds.

The landscape design should:
- Implement any relevant streetscape, landscape, urban design or native vegetation precinct plan, strategy or policy for the area set out in this scheme.
- Maintain significant vegetation where possible within an urban context.
- Protect and enhance any significant natural and cultural features.
- Protect and link areas of significant local habitat where appropriate.

Awarded where at least 0.5% of the subdivision area is set aside for biodiversity conservation, rehabilitation, or ecological restoration. This area must be in addition to existing native vegetation/habitat protection, Clause 52.17 requirements, and public open space contributions.
Permanent protection should be secured through mechanisms such as conservation covenants (e.g. via Trust for Nature), Section 173 agreements under the Planning and Environment Act, or Section 69 agreements under the Crown Land (Reserves) Act. Waterways and other ecologically significant areas may be considered suitable areas for biodiversity conservation or rehabilitation.
Any restoration work should be in line with local Ecological Vegetation Class (EVC) characteristics.
